Following the completion of my chest model the previous week, I set to work on preparing the various low poly models we would need for the environment. This of course included a few crate variations, two types of barrels, and some other basic props to place here and there. In addition to this, had to finish a club for the enemy AI to use.
Following this, I set out to work on the next part of the environment that needed completion. That of course being the environment itself. The game takes place on a Viking ship, which as it happens didn't usually have an interior. So taking inspiration from Viking longhouses, since they were just long ships flipped over, I started working on the base geometry. Specifically making the side walls match the curve and structure of a ships hull.
With how long this was taking, I was getting burnt out and decided to shift focus for a bit. In this case I decided to work on the doors. We decided to have two door types. One for boss rooms, one for normal rooms. Presently, I have completed the low poly for the normal door.
