This week started a little slow, with everyone simply working on their areas of the project. I took the time to do several things. Firstly, I continued reading the book Mr. Compton had provided. Getting a better idea of story structure, and how it needs to be tailored differently for games. Alongside this I wrote a basic outline of the world lore and history, and digitized notes from several of our other design meetings.

The real work this week started on Wednesday, when Kayla called a design meeting. With the announcement that we would be having a project review next week, she wanted us to refocus on the opening of the game. After some discussion with artists, the writers team got to work outlining what our opening sequence would look like leading up to the gameplay tutorial. There was some debate over what we wanted to do, and unfortunately this debate went quite long as Myself and one of the other writers couldn't agree one if we should include a cutscene or not. After the meeting ended that day without a clear decision, I decided to write a draft with a cutscene just to see how others liked it. Easier to remove a cutscene then to suddenly have to add one. The rest of my weeks work time was spent on this draft, which is presently awaiting review from the other writers and project head.
